Fans are required during the production of fireproof stones and their use in the glass and cement industry (brickwork for glass tank furnaces and rotary furnaces) for air circulation for drying, baking and cooling.
In the refractory industry, similar drying and baking processes take place, as well as for the production of roof tiles and building bricks.
High energy efficiency and a long service life for the conveyance of cold and moist air as well as hot exhaust gases in the dryer and tunnel furnaces are necessary for the production of dense refractory bricks.

Glass

During the production of float glass, the hot molten glass is cooled stress-free in the lehr by centrifugal fans. It is necessary to convey the air volumes without pressure fluctuations and with a high degree of availability for the individual temperature levels during the cooling phase. This takes place with special impeller geometries and the use of impeller materials that have a long service life.

Cement

When manufacturing cement clinkers in rotary furnaces, the brickwork of the fireproof stones heats up as a result of the process, which has an impact on the service life of the furnace shell. High-efficiency axial cooling fans cool the critical areas of the furnace shell. They convey cooling air in a targeted manner with a high air speed to the areas of the furnace shell prone to wear in order to increase its service life. Furthermore, special impeller geometries are used with coatings that prevent the caking of raw meal and to guarantee the high availability and service life of the fans.

Refractory bricks for the brickwork of rotary furnaces in the cement industry are produced using technology that is comparatively similar to what is used for the heavy clay production of building bricks or roof tiles. To ensure that this is reliably implemented, EVG Engicon supplied 16 cooling and exhaust air fan units for the production of float glass.
